To make it worse, the lamination steel used is lower grade than used in the U.S. and can not handle the magnetic field density for which the transformer was initially designed.

Consequently, those transformers will have a very short life span. They operate at too high heat, can cause electrical shocks and fire, and are much less energy efficient. In other words, they burn much energy for which the user needs to pay and are unsafe to use.

While price tags may often seem higher for "Made in USA" products, the cost per use is usually much lower as the made in USA quality will last far longer than a foreign-made alternate. To be fair, we did experience Asian companies that offer high-quality products, but in those cases, the offshore product and shipping costs are in the same ballpark as U.S. manufacturing.

Last but not least. Buying American-made products provides Jobs for current and future generations and keeps this country independent. During times of uncertainty in the global market, it is becoming increasingly important for the American people to invest in and buy American-Made products.
